HomeAsiaSouth East AsiaCambodiaPlanning a trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia Speedlinking By Marcos Detourist on March 25, 2010Traveling around the world has never been easier today all thanks to travel bloggers, who have been very helpful in posting about their experiences, itineraries, and guides. I like to research as much about my trips online before traveling or even just planning. I know it’s hard and tedious work to rummage through search engines for helpful blog posts and forum threads so I hope this will be helpful. Cambodia is one of my top places to visit, I’ve always dreamed of walking through the ancient roads and pathways of Angkor Wat. If plans push through, I might finally be able to step foot in Cambodia soon, so I need to finish my itinerary ASAP. photo by Stuck in CustomsUpdate!I’ve already gone through with the trip to Cambodia. Will be going to Cambodia via Bangkok, Thailand next month … I’m so excited but the same time worried if I have enough time to plan everything perfectly. Rex saysMarch 26, 2010 at 7:02 pmI’m not sure if my previous comments were posted but here goes again..I suggest you spend 2 or better yet 3 days in Siem Reap so you can take your time taking photos of the temples and all the interesting details. I hope you could also check out the hot air balloon near the airport.. until now I can’t get over missing it due to a tight sked.. I have a very helpful book here on Angkor Wat complete with maps and suggested itineraries. I could lend it to you if you’re interested. chymera00 saysMarch 26, 2010 at 8:16 pmyes yes rex, I hope you could lend me that guidebook. I’ll text you later. Thanks gd.I’m actually spending 6 days in Siem Reap but I’ll be spending the 4 days for a photography job covering an event in town. I’m still waiting for more details about the event so I know when my free time will be during my stay in Cambodia. thepinaysolobackpacker saysApril 1, 2010 at 4:06 amthnx for this Marcos! haha I’m looking into thse links, big big help. idol tlaga qta! ;D Will be doin’ Laos after Cambodia, hopefully. I hope, I’d still have some cash left for Batad. haha Kat Mascardo saysApril 3, 2010 at 5:06 pmCambodia is absolutely enchanting. There’s just nothing else like it in the world – and I’m not just talking about the temples. Even Siem Reap town has its own distinctive charm; it’s something you can’t put a finger on. Love love love it. It’s a place I know I’ll always keep going back to. My hairs stand on end as soon as I spot the ubiquitous Cambodian red clay soil from a distance. Haha.. You’re lucky the road from Poipet to Siem Reap is now cemented. You won’t believe how much of a hassle that was! But all in the name of adventure, I suppose. ;-) Anyway, have a great time! chymera00 saysApril 3, 2010 at 11:51 pmCool. I’m absolutely excited about the trip. I’ve only planned for the tour of Angkor Wat and do not know what to expect for Siem Reap proper … I want to be surprised when I get there. I’ll be there for almost a week so I think I’ll be able to get around most of the city and get to know a lot about Cambodian culture sans the temples. Thanks for the coment Kat. Tee saysApril 4, 2010 at 12:21 pmCambodia is amazingggg!! The first time I went to see Angkor it made a big lump on my throat! My skin began to feel goosebumps all over my body!
