Though, many seasoned travelers can attest that the best view of the ampitheatre-like rice terraces isn’t actually in Banaue town but in nearby Batad. It would be great to explore both areas to see which has a better view for yourself and also go on a hunt to find out the exact view where the Banaue Rice Terraces in the backside of the PHP1,000 bill was painted. Same experience with us minus the hailstorm … it’s so hot outside, such a pain to be traveling this time of year. You can check it our here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/iloilocity/ nikki saysMay 15, 2010 at 11:20 amsaw them pics. love them. if by any chance you’ll happen to visit Manila again, try to go to Salcedo Market in Makati. it’s open every Saturday only, stalls selling veggies open as early as 4am and stalls selling food open as early as 6am, all stalls close at 2pm. it’s a smörgåsbord of flavors. there’s also one in Ortigas named Banchetto, but it opens from Friday 8pm until Saturday morning.
