HomePiglet Galore during CHN Duty By Marcos Detourist on December 27, 2007Right now, I’m having my Community Health Nursing Duty in a barangay in Leganes. The family that I was assigned to raises and sells pigs as a means of livelihood. During our first day, one of the mother pigs gave birth the night before our visit. The family let us see the piglets… They were so cute! All 14 of them were crawling around stacked on top of each other while breastfeeding or sleeping. There was this one pig that was half the size of the other piglets and was having trouble getting a spot in the mother pig’s nipples since the larger pigs would shove him/her off easily.
