I wasn’t able to go inside but I remembered fantasizing about staying at that particular hotel after seeing the its cozy log cabin inspired exteriors surrounded by a deluge of verdant pines and colorful gardens.I was ecstatic when I found out my fantasy was about to shift into reality during Lakbay Norte. I finally got to spend an enchanting night at The Manor. My comfy abode at The Manor Camp John HayFirst impressionsThe moment we stepped past the entrance of The Manor, I was filled by the warmth of its homey interiors. The wide open spaces, wood clad walls, soft lighting, and stone accents all added to the relaxed atmosphere.Spacious grand lobby at the ManorMy roomI bunked at The Manor’s deluxe room. I expected nothing short of luxury at a high-end hotel. Indeed, The Manor delivered. They had a spacious carpeted room with very comfy beds. I slept real good that night :)I loved that windows could be fully opened to let the fresh Baguio breeze fill the room and enjoy a scenic view of the pine forest or manicured gardens.Deluxe room at The ManorI also liked the interesting local woodwork art pieces and ample space for the dresser/mirror outside the clean bathroom. The Manor SuitesWhile waiting for dinnertime, we had the chance take a tour of the hotel. We visited one of the The Manor’s suites, which was bigger than our room and had more amenities. The open balcony that had a full view of the inner courtyard was so cool. The hotel looked very enchanting at night. I suppose the daytime views are equally picturesque. As I’ve heard, this place is an attraction on its own.I wouldn’t mind going to Camp John Hay and splurge at the Le Chef’s buffet whenever I’m in Baguio. The food at Le Chef wasn’t just photogenic, it tasted heavenly good!Ratatouille soupSeared Tuna on mixed greens, sesame vinaigrette. I really loved this!U.S. beef short plate with mushroom sauce, vegetable, and mashed potato. Cooked to tender perfection! Marinated strawberries with French cream. Awesome dessert to finish our meal at Le Chef.Ample heaters placed at the dining area warmed up the outdoor space. I loved the ambiance at Le Chef because it had toasty warm comforts yet offered an open view of the inner courtyard garden. After dinner me and a few Lakbay Norte travelers kicked back at the chill ambiance of the hotel’s Piano Bar.The Manor Piano BarMorning afterI didn’t wake up early enough to catch the actual sunrise but I was able to get a quick snapshot of the stunning morning vista from the far end of The Manor’s property.View of Cordillera mountains from The ManorMorning view of The Manor Lakbay Norte bus parked outside the Manor and waiting to take us to our next destination: Dagupan City, PangasinanIf you’re planning to take a break from the tropical heat in the Philippines and splurge at a deluxe hotel in Baguio, The Manor is definitely worth considering. This trip was made possible during Lakbay Norte, a media familiarization tour organized by the North Philippines Visitors Bureau.Don’t leave yet.
