Jose C. Aquino Ave – Montillo Boulevard) – P140 Ride tricycle to Butuan Bus/Van Terminal – P10 6:00am – Ride “Cagayan de Oro” bound bus to Balingo-an, Misamis Oriental (2 hours and 45 minutes). Drop off at highway intersection going to Balingo-an pier. Walk to Balingo-an Pier (100m approx.). 8:45am – Arrived at Balingoan Pier. Inquire about ferry crossing to Camiguin Wait till 9:45am trip of “MV Yuhum” RORO (slow) ferry Breakfast at the pier carinderia stalls – Squid adobo, rice, virgin cola (p40) 10:00am – Ride RORO ferry to Benoni Port, Mahinog, Camiguin (1 hour) – P135 fare + P2.25 terminal fee 11:00an – Arrival at Benoni Port Ride jeep to Mambajao (30 minutes) – P20 fare 11:30am – Arrival in Mambajao. Dropped off at the bend past Balbagon Pier. Walked back to Brgy. Hall to ask for directions going to Enigmata . Should have told the driver to drop me off near Enigmata. Ride motorella (modified tricycle) to the intersection going to Enigmata – p20 Walk to Enigmata (5 minutes) Check-in at Enigmata Treehouse Ecolodge – P250 per night. 1 night downpayment. 1:00pm – Walk to highway Ride motorella to Camiguin Provincial Capitol intersection – p7 fare Walk to Camiguin Provincial Capitol (5 minutes) Visit the provincial tourism office. Get brochure and map. 1:40pm – Ride motorella to Mambajao Public Market – p7 Ride habal-habal to Katibawasan Falls – P60 (round trip) Offered driver to take me to ardent, Walkway to Old Volcano, Sunken Cemetery, and Guiob Church Ruins for a half-day tour – p350 including the visit to Katibawasan Falls (chartered ) 2:20pm – KatibawasanFalls – P? entrance fee 3:15pm – Ardent Hot Springs – P30 entrance fee 3:50pm – Walkway to Old Volcano 4:41pm – Sunken Cemetery Rained. Told driver to skip Soda Swimming Pool and Sunset at the Sunken Cemetery. Went back to town. Walked around Mambajao Town Proper. Predinner at Rooftop restaurant – Burito (P85), Iced tea (p15) Brownout! Buy 1.0L mineral water & minutemaid – P50 Camiguin pastel box of 6s – p48 Dinner at Enigmata – Chicken adobo with rice – P150. Very delicious. They served very big portions, which I wasn’t able to finish … ate the leftovers for breakfast the next day.Day 4 8:00am – Walked to highway Ride motorella to Camiguin Cathedral – P7 Ride motorella to Brgy. Agoho (jump-off point to White Island) – P8 Walked to beach area to charter a pumpboat 9:00am – Ride small pumpboat to White Island (15 minutes) – P300 (roundtrip charter) White Island – P20 entrance fee 10:00 – Back to mainland Ride jeep to Sunken Cemetry – P15 Walk to Guiob Church Ruins 12oz coke – P13 Ride jeep to Catarman -P15 Lunch at Catarman Public Market – P38 Ride habal-habal (single motorcycle) to Tuason falls in Catarman – P250 (roundtrip charter) 12:00pm – Catarman Town Proper to jump-off point (30 minutes) 12:40pm – Walk from jump-off point to Tuason Falls (30 minutes) 12:55pm – Tuason Falls Driver offered to take me all the way along the southern coastal highway from Catarman to Sagay, then Guinsilban with sidetrip to the Giant Clam Sanctuary, and drop off near Benoni Port in Mahinog – +P150 2:15pm – Pebble Beach along coastal highway in Sagay town 2:40pm – Giant Clam Sanctuary – P25 entrance fee 3:00pm – Arrival at Brgy. San Roque, Mahinog (jump off point to Mantigue Island). Inquired pumpboat rates – P550 roundtrip charter. Declined because it was too expensive. Enigmata Tree House is a cheap place to stay. It’s not classy but I like the artsy vibe. You can commute around the island if you don’t want to rent a multicab for your tour.
