We visited a few spots in Southern Antique (Anini-y, Hamtic, and San Jose) for a day trip. We assembled at Molo Terminal, Iloilo City where a few van drivers were squabbling for our attention, we had to choose between a spacious new looking Mercedes Benz Van and an L300 van, which looked like it had experienced too many trips. We picked the L300 van because the driver promised to leave immediately for us. We were lucky because the driver was very friendly and even made a good deal for a whole-day van rental.Travelling to Anini-y (two and a half hours from Iloilo City, fare = P100)Mainland Anini-y Coast, AntiqueNogas Island, Anini-y, Antique(10 minutes travel time from Mainland Anini-y, Pumpboat Fare = P50 round trip)Siraan Hot Springs(10 minutes travel time from Nogas Island, Entrance Fee – P20)Anini-y Church / San Juan de Nepumuceno Church(Travel time from Siraan Hot Springs)Ingwan Batangan Waterfallsin Bry. It was the place I was lost about when I was on my bicycle ride from Jaro to San Jose de Buenavista in Antique. After I passed by the mountains of San Joaquin, I saw seas and beaches and decided there must be a shortcut along coastline from that point to San Jose. Later, locals told me I’d rather take the highway. So I had to go back to the highway to proceed to Antique. I haven’t had explored Anini-y and Hamtic because I was running short of time. Based on your photographs here, the place looks like a paradise to me… I hope I can visit this place again… chymera00 saysJune 25, 2009 at 9:50 amAh, cool. Grabe, it’s more than 100 km from Iloilo City to San Jose. Maybe I should also try that sometime, when I’m in the bus I’m always thinking about going down to take pictures. Yes Nogas Island is very beautiful, I wished we had more time to spent there. qino saysJune 22, 2009 at 9:16 pmlove the pictures! can i repost them at my site? i am maintaining a multiply account for Poblacion, Anini-y, Antique and Nogas Island. Just take the L300 to Anini-y and tell the driver to drop you off at the beach (near Siraan), talk to some locals about crossing to Nogas. They told us that the pumpboat rate is P500 round trip for the whole boat. gene saysJune 26, 2009 at 6:46 pmhopefully kapuli ko liwat iloilo. :D anyway, nadumduman ko nakakadto lang ako before sa Siraan (that was 17 years ago though)… and my cousin was even prodding us to go to the island (na Nogas gali ang ngalan). What is there to see/do in Antique? where can we eat good food ? We plan to stay overnight in Antique to pace out our travel. What do u think? Olive saysOctober 5, 2010 at 11:48 amHow i miss this place… I’m proud to say that I grew up from this place. Beautiful place and people. People are very approachable here and very cheap. If this place could be develop for tourist spot, it would be a great for the municipality and especially the peolpe living here. From Ilo2 you can take a bus going to Anini-y. The entrance in Siraa-an hot Spring is very affordable and you can even bring your own food here. The cottages ranges from 50-100 depending on the size. The place is secured and safe, so even if you spend overnight here you won’t be afraid and there are cottages nearby that you can rent. If you want o go to Nogas island you can easily approach the Pumpboat owner and bargain for the price depending on how many person will ride on it. I’m looking forward to have my vacation their next year. If you need some help to go there. Please contact me #09068164508 “olive” Carla saysJune 19, 2011 at 1:38 pmHello po! Thanks a lot! chymera00 saysJune 23, 2011 at 4:49 pmThe locals say it’s not allowed to spend the night in Nogas since it’s a protected area (or government propery). I don’t have the contact # of Sira-an unfortunately. Best not to arrange your transportation in Sira-an … try to roam around and look for local fishermen along the beach. We just paid P100 for the round trip ride (but that was years ago na). nimai tamayo saysJuly 21, 2011 at 1:23 pmI just recently came from Nogas island a few weeks ago. The place is indeed beautiful. A tourist spot but without tourists! So you can roam free in peace and enjoy the serenity of the beach. Your pictures featured only half of its beauty. The other half is beneath the waters. The fishes and corals are magnificent. The water pepsi-blue, from the shores but when you swim under, it’s like a 3d movie in perfect blue-green water. You can not stay at Nogas island but there is a resort right across the island where you can stay overnight. It’s a family house that they rent out. It’s a few meters past the hot springs. If i had bought my underwater camera days before this trip I would have loved to share them with you. The scenery beneath the water is way better than Guimaras. Marcos saysJuly 23, 2011 at 6:49 pmGosh!
