Baguio to Manila Bus via Victory Liner

Baguio to Manila Bus via Victory Liner

It was finally the end of my 11-day Northern Luzon trip. The only remaining item in my itinerary was to take the bus from Baguio back to Manila. I already had an idea of how to commute from Manila to Baguio. Somehow, I wasn’t able to find sufficient details online about the bus if coming from Baguio. I only found a lot of outdated web pages. Baguio and La Trinidad Itinerary – DIY Tour for 3 Days

Baguio and La Trinidad Itinerary – DIY Tour for 3 Days

This is the do-it-yourself (DIY) itinerary I took during a 3-day trip to Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet. The bus ride from Vigan to Baguio consumed most of the first day. Slept for two nights in a hostel dorm room in Baguio. Spent the second day touring around Baguio’s popular tourists spots. Wanted to cover the basics since it was my first time to re-visit Baguio. La Trinidad Strawberry Fields and Bell Church

La Trinidad Strawberry Fields and Bell Church

It was the last day of not only my trip to Baguio but the whole 11-day Northern Luzon circuit tour. After a short side trip to the Lion’s Head at Kennon Road, I wanted to visit the strawberry fields of La Trinidad along with a few must-visits along the way. I was back in Baguio at around 1:20pm and was already very hungry. Read the rest of this entry »
Lion’s Head at Kennon Road in Baguio

Lion’s Head at Kennon Road in Baguio

The gigantic Lion’s Head along Kennon Road is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Baguio. It’s located at the outskirts of the city and is a popular stopover for quick photo souvenirs before entering the city proper area. Getting to Lion’s Head would be easy for people traveling in private cars. Read the rest of this entry »
Mines View, Wright Park, and the Sunset at SM City Baguio

Mines View, Wright Park, and the Sunset at SM City Baguio

I was a happy shutter bug at Camp John Hay and could have spent the entire afternoon there if I hadn’t checked the time. It was already 3:40pm and I still had a few places in Baguio that I wanted to visit. It had been a long time since my first trip in Baguio (eight years ago). It happened during an education tour when I was still in high school. Read the rest of this entry »
Camp John Hay Baguio – BBQ Ribs at Little John’s and the Secret Garden

Camp John Hay Baguio – BBQ Ribs at Little John’s and the Secret Garden

I love traveling because it affords me the opportunity to be transported to unfamiliar environments. Being in a different natural or urban setting becomes an opportunity to realize conceptual photos. My biggest goal in Baguio was to have my photo taken among towering pine trees. Yeah … pretty vain, I know. Read the rest of this entry »
Baguio City Walking Tour

Baguio City Walking Tour

Baguio is one of the most walkable cities in the Philippines. The pedestrian-friendly sidewalks were wide, clean, safe, and most notably, didn’t suffer from the merciless tropical climate. I’ve always wanted to live in Baguio and escape the unbearable heat of  the lowlands. During my visit, however, I had to settle for a 3-day trip. Read the rest of this entry »

Reconnecting with Baguio – Baden Powell Inn and Cafe by the Ruins

My first visit to Baguio happened during an educational tour back in high school. It was eight years ago. We spent a week visiting many spots in Luzon. Although my memory of the trip had already become hazy, most of what I could recall were my experiences in Baguio. My revisit to the City of Pines was very special to me. Ilocos Sur Itinerary – DIY tour of Vigan, Bantay, and Santa Maria for 2 days

This is the do-it-yourself (DIY) itinerary I took during my trip to Ilocos Sur for 2 days. My major destinations were Vigan and the towns of Bantay and Santa Maria. Arrived in Vigan from Laoag, Ilocos Norte by bus. Spent my few hours of remaining daylight orienting myself to the city proper area of Vigan. Calle Crisologo in particular. Calle Crisologo and Walking Tour of Vigan, Ilocos Sur

Calle Crisologo and Walking Tour of Vigan, Ilocos Sur

It was my second day in the Heritage City of Vigan in Ilocos Sur. Having just arrived from a short side trip to the Santa Maria Church, I had the afternoon to have my tour of Vigan. There were a couple of options to go at it. I could go on the touristy calesa (horse drawn carriage) ride around town or join a guided tour group. Read the rest of this entry »
