Here is the detailed 3 days and two nights itinerary we had during our recent trip to Hong Kong and Macau:
Day 1 – Hong Kong (Lantau Island Tour, Hong Kong Disneyland)
- 3:40 AM – Check-in at Ninoy Aquino International Airport – Terminal 3
- Breakfast at the terminal
- 5:40 AM - Manila to Hong Kong Flight via Cebu Pacific (5J108)
Sunrise during the Early Morning Flight to Kong Kong
- 7:40 AM – Arrival at Hong Kong International Airport
- Go through Immigrations Hall (we waited in line for around 1 hour because of the long queue, so be sure to rush ahead of the other passengers immediately after arrival)
Hong Kong International Airport
- Exchange currency to Hong Kong Dollars
- Visit Hong Kong Tourism Board Visitor Information Services for maps and brochures
- Claim Hong Kong MTR Airport Express Travel Pass (bought online)
- 9:00 AM – Transport to Wing Sing Hotel in Yau Ma Tei
- We actually rode the Airport Express MTR to Kowloon MTR Station and then rode a bus (I already forgot the number) to Jordan MTR Station , which is one station away from Yau Ma Tei MTR Station . We travelled light, so it wasn’t much of a hassle carrying our baggage around.
- If you have light baggage, you could also take the airport express line all the way to Hong Kong Station and then switch to the Tsuen Wan MTR (red) line in Central Station. Drop off at Yau Ma Tei Station.
- Use Exit C at Yau Ma Tei MTR Station and walk to Wing Sing Hotel (2 blocks away)
- 9:30 AM – Check-in at Wing Sing Hotel

- 10:00 AM – Transport to Tung Chung Town Center for Lantau Island Tour
- Take MTR to Central Station and walk to Hong Kong Station to switch to Tung Chung MTR Line

- 10:40 AM – Lantau Island Tour
- Walk to Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Terminal
- Take Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Ride and enjoy breath taking aerial views of Lantau Island.

- 9:00 PM – Fireworks Display at Sleeping Beauty’s Castle
- 9:30 PM – Transport to Temple Street Night Market (also called Men’s Night Market)
- Ride Disneyland MTR back to Sunny Bay and then take Tung Chung MTR line to Central MTR Station
- Walk to Central MTR Station to switch to Tsuen Wan (red) line
- Drop off at Yau Ma Tei MTR Station
- 10:30 PM – Shopping at Temple Street night market
- Temple Street is just found outside Wing Sing Hotel, so it’s pretty convenient if you want to do a little shopping and go back to your hotel room to call it a night
- Dinner
- You can buy a AC socket adaptor converter thinggy in Temple Street for HKD 5-10. Hong Kong Island mostly uses 220 volts, which is the same in the Philippines, so you can safely use your chargers/electronics but the shape of their plug is “the big T plug” one, not the the “2 parallel line plug” that we use (excuse my ignorance of electronic terms).
Day 2 – Hong Kong (Star Ferry Ride, Victoria Peak Tour, Ocean Park, Ladies Night Market)
- 10:00 AM – Breakfast at a Chinese Restaurant at the corner near Wing Sing Hotel
- Buy snacks at 7/11 store
- 10:30 AM – Star Ferry ride to Hong Kong Island
- Ride MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui Station. Take Exit L4
- Walk to Star Ferry Pier Terminal
- Ride Starr Ferry (upper deck) across Victoria Harbor – HK$2.3

- 11:00 AM – Walk from Star Ferry Terminal (Hong Kong Island side) to The Peak Tram lower terminus

- This is a difficult part. Make sure you have a map with you so you don’t get lost. What we did was to orient ourselves with some landmarks along the way, so it will be easier to find the lower terminus. Just be mindful that it is just very near St. John’s Cathedral. If you think you’re getting lost or don’t know where you’re going just ask around for directions, there are a LOT of Filipinos in this area, especially on Sundays.
- 11:20 AM – Take the Peak Tram to Victoria Peak (if you want to take advantage of the view while the tram is going uphill, sit on the right side of the tram, the one with 3 seats).

- Find Bus Terminal and take Bus 15 to Admiralty – HK$10.6. Drop off at Admiratly Station Bus Stop in Queensway St., which is directly in front of Admiralty Garden and near the Lippo Center. The bus ride downhill is very scenic and quite exhilarating because of the steep slopes. We sat on the second level of the bus and it was fun while it lasted.

This is really helpful! I’m planning to visit Macau and Hongkong this June. I’m having a hard time booking a hotel reservation. Based on the reviews of most of the hotels i’ve checked, the main problem is language barrier. I just want to ask if the hotel that you stayed on have staffs that can easily speak and understand english. Also, regarding the 3rd day tour you did not check in to a hotel right? You also left your baggage at the Veneteian Macau concierge. May I ask for more details about this?? Thanks in advance!

@Rex: Yeah, we spent 7 hours in Disneyland and didn’t get to see everything. Actually, the only thing I was excited about in Disneyland the fireworks display, so it didn’t bother me that much. Disneyland is more for young kids. Ocean Park was more exciting for me and I wish we woke up earlier so that we could have spent more time there.

Demonoid: Oo nga, and we could have just skipped Madame Tussauds while we’re at it. Cool, really helpful talaga yang tip sa mga naga plan to go to Macau.
the food is quite expensive nga lang sa HK… for example a 2-pc chicken value meal sa KFC (without rice ’cause they dont serve it even sa McDo) would cost you around HK$ 29-32 so I chose other restos instead na may rice like Coral Garden, same lang naman ang price nila but mas mabubusog ka.
i remember when i went alone sa HK disneyland last chinese new year because yung kasama ko attended a seminar so i explored disneyland on my own hehe… there were so many (as in marami) domestic helpers there because they were given 3 days holiday ng kanilang employers, they were so excited and I happen to meet some of them na taga iloilo and negros.. they were bringing with them foods and coffee like going to a picnic, they invited me in so naki-join na rin ako sa kainan nila as in pakapalan na talaga hehehe so i was able to eat valenciana with them in disneyland.
Mas expensive nga compared sa mga fastfood dito sa Pinas especially sa mga theme parks like Disneyland and Ocean Park. We also bought ba-on when we went to these theme parks, we would buy McDo in downtown HK and then just bring them. We also tried eating in the canteens/restaurants of the theme parks, the food wasn’t anything special and were overpriced.

BTW, is the ariport express tkt valid for 1 wk coz we plan to use it in our return trip to Airport.. we want to take bus to the city from the airport then use the express tkt in going back.. again thanks so much and also is CEbu PAc terminal located in TERM 1 or is it TERM 2.. from MAP
the Airport Express Tourist Travel Pass is only valid for three consecutive days of use. It’s a good idea to that you decided take the airport express for your return flight since it’s convenient (and you won’t be worrying about missing your plane). I suggest taking the Tourist Travel Pass on the last three days of your trip … or you could just buy a one way ticket in the travel express (without the 3 day unlimited pass).

We did the starferry ride during the weekend. I think they strictly follow their schedule.
If you look to the schedule posted in their website carefully. You will notice a time range and a corresponding frequency. The time range posted there is not the expected time of departure and arrival. Rather it shows the frequency of trips for that time range.
For example
Based on the schedule posted
(On a saturday) From 7:15am – 10:40pm, there will be a starferry boat leaving the pier every 6/8 minutes and from 10:30 – 11:30 pm, it slows down to every 10/12 minutes etc….
The whole Starferry ride from Tsim Sha Tsi to Central only lasts for around 10 minutes.

yes, there are buses available but I forgot what number. The bus terminal in Tung Chung is just near the MTR Exit.

We found HK very easy to navigate. The only tricky part of our whole trip was finding the lower terminus of The Peak Tram. If you get lost, there are people around whom you can ask for directions anyways … bring a map just to be sure.

hello can i ask something i wanted to go this coming end of month there in hk but i wanted to stay there almost 2 weeks coz i have a friend there she work there and she said no need to take a hotel accomendation dahil may alam siyan bahay na 100 hk $ per day ask kolng ok lng bang maka enter sa hk na wala ng hotel accomendation na kinuha thanks and my badget is about 21th it is okay or lack for my plan? gusto kolng mag ikot ikot sa hk not more thanks
hmmm… hK$100 x 14 days is already 40% of your budget plus, you have to consider the terminal fee (P750) and travel tax (P1620) at NAIA so that’s already a total of 50% of your budget. The remaining amount, you have to spend on transportation within HK and your food. If you’re not planning to going to any theme parks (Disneyland, Ocean Park), I guess your P21K could fit if you’re on a “backpackers” budget.
I suggest you consult your friend since he/shes knows better about the cost of living in HK. If you’re not planning to book a hotel reservation beforehand, at least bring details about where you’re planning to stay so you could show it to the immigrations officer. Better if you ask a “written invitation” from your friend.

No charges for baggage deposit in The Venetian. It depends on you if you want to spend more time in Macau.

We’ll be with 2 senior citizens going there. they’re still pretty healthy but i doubt they would tolerate walking for very long distances. would you recommend all these places for our group? I understand that the Fortress Hill was a long trek, so I took that out already.

I haven’t used Agoda personally but I’ve read a lot of comments from people who’ve tried booking a room at Agoda.com and the reviews were mostly positive.

Usually, they would just check your return flight and hotel reservation documents before stamping your passport. They will also give you a card, which you MUST keep until your departure from Hong Kong.

Very Near, it’s just a short block away. Like I said earlier, Googling will help you a lot with knowing the location of places when traveling. A search of “bridal tea house, yau ma tei, hong kong” in http://google.com/maps will do the trick.
Hey! I got fascinated with your itinerary. It is really good. I’m just wondering if you can go around disneyland starting by 1 pm? nasakyan nyo naman ba lahat ng rides? we are taking the same flight schedule as yours from cebu pacific. and we are planning that after we arrive in hk, we go directly to disneyland. however, we are also planning to go to Ngongping 360 but I haven’t put it in my itinerary since maybe we need a lot of time in disneyland, as well as considering that it is also peak season, baka mahaba ang pila sa mga rides.
what do you suggest?

We also went to Disneyland for the afternoon only and during Peak Season. We didn’t get to go to all the attractions and we were super tired the whole time since we went to NongPing 360 before that. We had to squeeze those two attractions in one day because of our limited time. My advice is to spend sufficient time in Hong Kong so you could visit everything you want to see. Other than that, it really depends on what things you’re willing to sacrifice. I was not very excited to visit Disneyland so spending less time there didn’t bother me at all.

Hello Marcos. We’d like to visit sana the AVENUE OF STARS. Is there any way we can insert it considering we follow your itinerary? We’re not so interested in Disneyland coz we’re in our late 40′s. Siguro mga 5 hours sa Disneyland just so we can experience it. Where can we insert Avenue of Stars considering the tight sked?
It’s very doable … we could have done it on the night we went out to see the Symphony of Lights (after our visit to Oceanpark) … but it was raining that night and we decided to just stay in one area.

hi, want to ask u about the leave baggage in venetian n shuttle bus. when deposit the baggage the venetian’s staff will not ask are we stay at their hotel or not ? everyone can leave their baggage at there? and for shuttle bus also, they will let us ride their bus without ask we stay at their hotel or not ?
I assume they offer these services not only to hotel guests but also people playing at the casino. As long as you intend to go to the casino, I think it’s okay to use the concierge and free shuttle ;)

I think it’s different from the Octopus card. Best to visit the HK MTR website for the latest rate.

I would have liked to breakdown the itinerary in more than 3 days actually. I regret that we didn’t have enough time on each place we visited or had extra time to venture out to nearby spots.
