Spending hours under the heat of the midday sun was worth it after I was able to take these pictures of the Dinagyang Festival 2008 held during the 26th and 27th of January. While the other photographers who had SLR cameras and their long zoom lenses were able to take their stunning photographs standing in the shade (or in one location), I had to move around a bit (because of the limitations of a point a shoot with 6X zoom) so that I’d be able to take decent shots.
The photos I’ll post here are only some of the photos I uploaded, the rest can be found in the Dinagyang 2008 photo set in my flickr account. Here are my best shots:

Thank You to PIA and Mr. Bombette G. Marin (Iloilo Provincial Tourism Officer) for giving me a media pass and to IFDI for acknowledging ExploreIloilo.com as one of the media sponsors of the Dinagyang Festival 2008.

Your photos are awesome! Sosyal gd ya nong ah, media sponsor, media pass, naks.. I love your fireworks photos, too. Anyway, Do you happen to be a member of the Photographic Society of Iloilo?
Dang I miss Dinagyang once again! Hopefully next year be there to join the fun..;)
Hey Marc. Beautiful pics! I miss Dagyang! Did you take those pictures? I’m getting into photography and thinking of getting myself a digital SLR camera. I’m sick of my old point and shoot digital camera. Any recommendations? I’m torn between getting a Nikon D70 or a Canon EOS Rebel XTi. What do you think?
Yep, I took all the photos. Even ako torn between Nikon and Canon until now … negligible lang man ang difference, ultimately it will depend on the photographer whether the camera could take good photos or not.
can you send me more picture of dinagyan festival

hi, i would like to ask for suggestions for hotel accomodations… we’ll be in Iloilo on the 27th of Jan 2013, for dinagyang, and we’re having a hard time booking a hotel since most of them are on a “3-nights package” and we’re only staying in iloilo for one night, because we’re also going to bacolod and guimaras. Do you know any? as long as it’s decent, clean and safe and not so far from the city proper. Thank you very very much. I will super appreciate it.
