For travelers planning on visiting Iloilo, the islands of Concepcion in Northern Iloilo is one of the “must sees” in the Province. Even though I’ve gone there a considerable number of times already, I just can’t get enough of it! Here’s my recommended 2 days and 1 night (overnight) itinerary when in Concepcion, where you can experience white sand beaches, clear waters, long winding sandbars, island hopping tours, coral gardens, fresh seafood, simple island life, and very friendly locals.

My whole 3rd week of January was swamped with covering the Dinagyang Festival. It got really hectic during the weekend trying to balance my time covering the various events, bonding with school friends, meeting online buddies, preparing photos and videos to be posted ASAP, and catching up on sleep.

One of my most anticipated event of the year, the Dinagyang 2010 is happening next week! As expected, I will be quite busy covering the event for Explore Iloilo. The highlights will start friday afternoon for the Fluvial Procession starting from Fort San Pedro all the way to Muelle Loney. In the evening, the day 1 of the Luces in the Sky Fireworks Competition will start.
Pictures during my trip last week to Concepcion Islands in Northern Iloilo with fellow photo trippers Raph and Kent. It was my fourth time visiting the islands and beaches of Concepcion and I’ve haven’t grown tired of it! There’s absolutely some unexpected surprise every time I go there. If you have a whole day to explore Iloilo and would want to venture outside the city, Southern Iloilo is one of the best routes to take since the main attractions are just along the highway and the road conditions are very good. The towns along Iloilo’s southern coast include (from nearest to farthest): Oton, Tigbauan, Guimbal, Miagao, and San Joaquin. It takes a little more than an hour to get to San Joaquin from Iloilo City. Discover the different sights in Southern Iloilo!

During the drive back to Iloilo from Roxas City, Capiz, we decided to take a stop over in Dingle, Iloilo. Eric wanted to visit Dingle Church since he’s never been there before, mostly probably because the poblacion or town center of Dingle is not directly along the main highway. If you’re commuting, you have to ride a jeep or motorcycle to go Dingle Church.

Me and whyte set out one afternoon for a food treat in two of Iloilo’s niche restaurants. We had lunch in Perri Todd’s, known for their delectable giant burgers and Nothing but Desserts, which specializes in serving sinfully sweet desserts.
