After visiting more than half of the Philippines’ eighty provinces and experiencing the overwhelming beauty of my country, It was time to venture out further and travel longer.
2012 was my most extensive travel year yet. I wandered around nine countries in South East Asia and did a couple of trips within the Philippines as well.

Uber cheap flight tickets, booked one year in advance, kicked-off my dream of finally embarking on a 10-week trip to Indochina. This well-trodden backpacking trail passes through countries located in the mainland part of South East Asia such as Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
I didn’t have much time to plan any concrete itinerary or schedule.

Seeing the ancient temples of Angkor was the highlight of my trip to Cambodia last summer. People from half the world away go to this place to marvel at the accomplishments of early human civilization and I was very excited to also have the chance to see it myself. Angkor was a bustling metropolis built by the Khmer Empire in the 9th to the 15th centuries, it is known as the biggest pre-industrial city in history.
