AirPhil Express is Now the Official Carrier of Ambot-Ah! What Next in 2011 and Beyond?

As you many already know, AirPhil Express is now the official airline carrier of Ambot-ah.com. I’ve flown with AirPhil Express multiple before and I’ve been very satisfied with their service. AirPhil Express has been very dynamic in servicing the needs of the budget traveler (like me). It’s no wonder that they’re now the fastest growing budget airline in the Philippines. I’m very excited to have AirPhil Express as Ambot-ah’s airline partner and, subsequently, be able to experiences even more travel destinations in the Philippines.

Dreaming to be a Traveler

Back in 2007 when I was still on my 3rd year in college, I started Ambot-ah as a personal repository of thoughts and realizations of my teen self. Although I chose to study in the nursing profession (as did hundreds of thousands of young hopeful Filipinos), I always wondered about the idea of living the life of a traveler.

The free spirited journey of adventure and self-discovery, coupled with my new found passion for photography, inescapably appealed to my young mind. When I graduated and passed the board exams, I was finally free from my academic obligations and felt the overpowering freedom of having my whole life ahead of me … to be whoever I wanted to be.

Ambot-ah wins “Best Travel Blog” at the 2010 Philippine Blog Awards Visayas

The announcement came during the awarding ceremony of the 2010 Philippine Blog Awards – Visayas leg held last November 27 in The Venue Function Rooms (The Avenue Complex, Smallville, Iloilo City). Thank you to everyone who supported Ambot-ah! Your comments, likes, shares, emails, private messages, and wall posts have helped me significantly to continue blogging about my travels and push myself to go that extra mile. A lot of times during my solo travels, I do have my episodes of feeling lonely but the creeping weariness does not last long because I know there are people out there who care about me and the things I blog about.

Ambot-ah Major Redesign for 2010

For regular readers of Ambot-ah, you might have already noticed some changes in the look and feel of the blog. This is only the first step in my plans of improving Ambot-ah to a whole new level. This is in light of my plans of venturing out of my hometown, Iloilo, this year and traveling to more places around the Philippines. I’m very excited! I wonder where I’ll end up in the months to come.

Finally! Experiences at the Philippine Blog Awards 2009 – Awards Night

Now that my October travelling spree is over, I’m finally back home … back to blogging. You’ll probably notice my online activity rising because I’ve cleared up my schedule for the next month so that I can do some major work on my blogs (actually, it’s more like I wont be going anywhere because I’ve got no more money left to spend). During the first week of October, I spent a week in Manila to take some pictures for a new blog I’m developing named “Pueblo Philippines (more about this later).” While I was there, I bought a one week MRT/LRT unlimited flash pass (for P250) and visited many spots in Metro Manila. Though, the highlight (and main agenda) of my trip was actually attending the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards, in which Explore Iloilo was nominated under the Best Travel Blog category.

Launched Everything Boracay – Your Local Guide to Boracay

My postings here and Explore Iloilo have been sparse lately. I’ve been busy developing a new website called Everything Boracay (http://www.everythingboracay.com), which was made to help people plan their trip to Boracay. Visitors can find general information about Boracay, insider travel tips and guides, view a list of where to stay in Boracay, and even make online bookings through partner travel sites.

Explore Iloilo Updates – October 07 2007

I’m currently on the continual process of improving Explore Iloilo. I’ve just finished some of SEO modifications in the title, meta tags, post tags, and comment pagination of the site. I’m also slowly updating the watermark of most of the pictures at my flickr account to prevent other people from posting them without giving credits.

I’ve also added a Dinagyang 2008 section in the main page to prepare for the said event and is testing if “Text Link Ads” will be able to give me some extra income.

After reading this post, I’ve gained more ideas on how to improve Explore Iloilo such as:

  • Online Surveys
  • Subscribing to more SEO and Monetizing Blogs
  • Links Bait
  • Making Videos
  • Social Networks (friendster, myspace, multiply)
  • Create paypal account, which means I have to get a visa/mastercard first.

I hope they work, but more important I hope I’ll be able to do all of those in just a short period of time.
