Last week a friend invited me to go for a trip to the holy grail of island destinations in Iloilo, Carles, this weekend. We will be staying at Isla de Gigantes Sur for three days and two nights. I’m hoping we can visit most of the tourist spots in the area including the Sicogon Island, the famed Boracay of the 80′s. I’ve been dying to go here since highschool and now that I’ve finally got the chance to visit it, I’m so ecstatic! I can now cross out one item in my list of ultimate adventures in Iloilo. YES! Pictures and a travelogue will definitely be posted here but it might take a while since I’ve got other trips planned for the next two weeks.
In the Philippine Ilonggo dialect, ambot ah literally means "I don't know." After graduating in college, I decided to hold off pursuing my profession and embarked on a free spirited journey of adventure and self-discovery. My travels have led me to many places across the Philippine Islands and South East Asia. I don't know where this path will take me but I'm certain I'll get a lifetime of stories out of it.

haha, ginbasa ko na gali, sa Gigantes gali. thanks for the invite, but as much as I want to go there, it is not possible (I am currently not based in Iloilo City anymore). Anyway, I’ll wait for your Gigantes travelogue; then maybe when I visit Iloilo again will definitely try to go there. ;)

Hi, really nice pics! it looks like the one in coron:) anyway i just want to ask if it’s more advisable to go to islas de gigantes as a day tour–and where’s the safest place we can stay in carles…are there other nice beaches/islands to go to in carles area? my friends and i (3 girls) are planning to go to iloilo this june (for the first time- we’re frm manila…)this seems to be a very nice place to go to in iloilo. can u also recommend great places to go to at guimaras in a short time? Best to spend at least one night. Carles/Estancia is already 3hours from Iloilo City by road and Isla de Gigantes is another 45 minutes by boat. Try http://carlesshangrila.wordpress.com/
Guisi and Alubihod are great places to go in Guimaras… it’s just within 1.5 hours from Iloilo City

How much will it cost for the bus from iloilo to carles? from carles ba ay may sasakyan pa para pumunta sa pier or pantalan? do you have a contact for the boat, how much will we pay? then, we are going to boracay via roxas city. I know that from carles, we need to get a bus to estancia, how long is the trip and how much, from estancia to roxas city, how much and how long is the travel and from roxas city to caticlan, how much and how long is the travel duration.
