A flare sparks in the darkness of my Christmas
Fireworks at the Iloilo Capitol

Save for the fun meet ups with friends, my Christmas has been sucky mostly because of a big family problem. That aside, the “Christmas air” is just not as festive as before and I so hate the cold air during the evenings of late. Good thing Cebu Pacific made an announcement during Christmas day that they were giving out ZERO fares. Being slightly down, I needed a quick fix to make me excited. I quickly contacted my friends and we made the online booking the next day.

Cebu Pacific had given out free flights before during their anniversary. Eric testified to me that they are legit, you only have to pay the P56 tax and the terminal fee (that’s P200 for the Iloilo Airport and P200 at the Mactan International Airport). I and 4 of my friends have reserved a flight to Cebu. Initially we had planned for a weekend getaway, unfortunately, there were no seats left for the weekend flights so we opted to go there on February 26 instead. We will be standing on Cebuano soil for a long long long span of 31 hours. YES!

I feel so extravagant making plane trips and then returning the next day. We’re just going to do some shopping there, have dinner and then come back home. Joke! Actually, the real reason why we didn’t opt to stay long was because we don’t have enough money to stay long in a hotel or pension house. It would have been a better idea to stay there for a longer time. It would also be better if I have more money so that I can do a bit of shopping there.

We just have to work around our limitations and maximize our time (and money) there. I still need to do a whole lot of research for our 1 day itenerary to tour the whole of Cebu City and a bit of Mactan. So far, I have a couple of destinations in mind and googled a fairly decent pension house in downtown Cebu, which charges only a bit under P500 per person.

If anyone is reading and feel sorry for me, maybe you can spare some change. I accept paypal and bank transfer, hehe. We also need any suggestions for our trip because we are clueless about how to go around Cebu and where to stay.
